Seymour Duncan Antiquity II Tele Bridge

From the manufacturer:

Summary

Our tribute to the 1960s gray bottom Telecaster lead pickup. Bright and twangy with a slight softening of the treble response.

Description
The Antiquity II Tele bridge is built with specially calibrated, hand ground alnico 5 rod magnets with the period correct pole stagger. There is plenty of snap and bounce of the low strings, and on the high strings this pickup gives you that classic Tele twang, but without the dreaded ice pick harshness. Hand built in our Custom Shop, the Antiquity II Tele Rhythm recreates the look and sound from the 60s. We use custom aged, gray bottom flatwork, brass plated steel bottom plate, vintage push-back cloth wire, and each pickup is lacquered, and wax potted like the originals.

This clip highlights some of the classic sounds of the Seymour Duncan Antiquity II Tele bridge pickup. Skip to 0:24 to hear the Antiquity's impressive bass response -- something you may not ordinarily expect from a lot of trebly Tele pickups. You can really get a nice old timey country tone, as demonstrated at 0:34, with punchy low-end as well as a crisp midrange to give it that classic Tele twang and bite. Jump to 1:48 and you can hear how well the pickup responds to palm mutes and pick attack, making it ideal for chicken pickin' licks, 60s Rock 'n' Roll, surf, funk, and beyond. Aside from its notable bass tones, the Antiquity II bridge pickup also has a very spanky high-end with a brilliant natural compression that never sounds too shrill (listen at 2:00-2:05). This is a very clean pickup that packs a lot of punch for classic vintage tones.

The player is Bob Baratta and he is playing a Fender Squier Classic Vibe Telecaster through a Carr Rambler amp.

This video demonstrates some of the classic clean and lead tones you can get from the Antiquity II Tele bridge pickup. With a dampened treble response, the bass frequencies in these pickups tend to shine, resulting in a really full warm tone (listen from 0:00 - 0:15). Although the high-end is relatively tame, there is still plenty of twang and sparkle. Jump to 0:44 and you can hear the growl these pickups can get on a mild gain setting, perfect for crunchy power chords or high string bends. These pickups are extremely versatile and have a timeless sound that Tele fans will love.

The player is Avoine Donlatrex and he is playing a '69 Thinline Parts Telecaster with a Hansen Kustoms maple neck into a Fender Blues Junior.

This pickup really handles gain well and always manages to have a rounded sound with punchy low-end, growling mids, and a smooth high-end. The Antiquity II bridge pickup breaks up so naturally and has that perfect boosted clean sound that is gritty and articulate at the same time. Jump to 2:38 to hear how it responds to subtle pick attack and other dynamic playing. There is plenty of body to the tone, yet it has a beautiful spank, giving it classic Tele charm. Even power chords (2:53) sound rich with a tight midrange and sharp attack. The Antiquity II bridge pickup is a great selection for traditional 60's Tele tones.
